TERRY FOX WALK
Published on Sep 24, 2018 12:55

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Monsignor Clair will again be participating in the 38th Anniversary of the annual Terry Fox Walk on Thursday, September 27th, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m.. The Purpose of this event is to raise funds for Cancer Research and to encourage students to become more aware of the efforts and impact made by Terry Fox. Events like this not only raise funds for research, but they also share the story of Terry Fox to people around the world. Students will have the opportunity to learn about Terry’s life and courage through a variety of videos. These videos will help them recognize the importance of such an event and reinforce the courage and determination Terry had.

This event will not require students to collect pledges from relatives. Donations of any amount are welcome. We are asking for “A Toonie for Terry” from each student. Our goal as a school of 235 students is to raise more than $500.00 if possible.  You may also donate on our school’s fundraising page by seeing below. And you will be given a receipt.

Our school is proud to be participating in the Terry Fox School Run. Please join our school community and support this worthy cause, click: http://www.terryfox.ca/MonsignorClairBarrie to be taken to our school’s fundraising page. The Terry Fox Foundation has a great reputation with 82 cents of every dollar going directly to cancer research. Thank you for joining us in the fight against cancer.

The students will begin the walk with an assembly in the gym and then walk around the school yard and community.

Thank you in advance for your support.
