The Grandparent Support System Program is proud to announce our upcoming conference, “Blossom Where You Are Planted”. This event will take place at Georgian College, Barrie Campus, on April the 7th, 2017.
The Grandparent Support Group Program was created in Simcoe County as a result of the growing number of Grandparents raising their grandchildren in our communities. In response to this need, Simcoe Community Services is offering a conference for Grandparents raising their Grandchildren and professionals supporting these families.
This exciting event will offer the opportunity to create public and professional awareness in regards to the challenges and joys faced by Grandparents raising their grandchildren.
“Blossom Where You Are Planted” is an educational strategy that offers the opportunity to minimize stigmatization and exclusion and maximize support systems, as well as create awareness of the possibilities for life enhancement.
